What are the Guidelines & Requirements?

Applicant must be vegan.

Applicant must be 18 or older.

First-time applicants are typically granted no more than $200, unless strong history of vegan advocacy can be shown.

As a general rule, Asha Sanctuary will reimburse up to $150 (single day) or $250 (multi-day) toward a booth/table fee.

Funding may only be granted for strictly vegan outreach that promotes a 100% vegan message and is consistent with our mission statement, vision, and values.

Videos promoting illegal activity are prohibited.

Preference is given to events showing videos with graphic footage unless a compelling case is made otherwise or venue/event does not allow it.

Children under 14 must have parental permission to participate.

Viewers are required to watch the entire clip to receive the incentive.

All food samples must be 100% vegan (no meat, eggs, dairy, or honey).

We do not provide funding for events that serve alcohol. For more information, please see our FAQ page.

Please submit the application at least TWO WEEKS before the event date.

Event must be held a college campus in a high traffic area.

Event venue cannot benefit animal exploitation (e.g., we will not support events where the booth fee/publicity will benefit a zoo).

With rare exception, grantees will not receive funding for tabling in the same location more than once per month. Multi-day festivals are exempt.

As a general rule, Asha Sanctuary will reimburse up to $250 towards a booth/table fee.
During events, everyone who takes a $1 reimbursement and/or food sample must be offered educational literature. Educational literature is a required part of all events we fund, and the literature should discuss the realities of not only factory farming, but small farms, free-range farms and organic farms. An Asha Sanctuary brochure must be handed out with the earned $1 sticking outside and visibly shown.

Grantees are required to take photos that show the literature, required sign, Pay Per View booths, food samples (if applicable), and attendees and upload them to a Facebook event or album.

Grantees must upload itemized receipts.

Asha Sanctuary will pay for up to $50 in miscellaneous expenses per event that have associated receipts, including but not limited to headphones, splitters, poster board, parking fees, etc.

Asha Sanctuary does not pay for A/V equipment.

Asha Sanctuary reserves the right to deny reimbursement for the following items: non-vegan foods, excessive or wasteful items, food or ingredients which contain products not readily available for purchase in your area, gratuities, wages, travel expenses, special equipment, special food for volunteers, bottled water, shipping, signage, office supplies, printing, ice, items which have little or no value in vegan education (e.g., coffee/tea/other common beverages), or any other items that do not fit in with the Asha Sanctuary's mission.
Asha Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Organization that rescues, rehabilitates and provides shelter to abused farmed animals.
